Incidentally, Turkish Airlines performed well apart from this. I always thought travellers shouldn’t let their passports out of sight. This meant an hour of nervous waiting for passengers in the airport transit area. The passports of all transiting passengers were collected and taken somewhere in a plastic bag to be processed with no explanation. Our luggage was checked through to Zagreb-Sydney, however our boarding passes had to be reissued in Jakarta.
